I am ....

… A sci-fi & fantasy fan. Name a classic and there’s a fair chance I have read it. And if not, I’ll be happy to add it to my list. I love to read sci-fi and fantasy. Well, maybe, my lists has grown somewhat too long…

… An engineer and an IT project manager. I like my day job, bridging the gap between technology and users. I love also technology when used and technical tools. But not for reckless usage. It has to be done in the most responsible way.

… A teacher for new engineers and professionals. There’s always something to share and learn both as a trainee and a teacher. I am constantly looking for new certifications.

… A player of games. Tabletop RPG or live, video games, boardgames. Playing just for the fun more than from any desire to win.

… A man who loves to go and discover what is beyond the next hill. Literally. I don’t need to go to the other side of the world for that (even if we lived down under) but I need to see what is around me. In France, in Europe, or farther away.

I write ....

… the sci-fi &fantasy I would like to read. Travels, adventures, wonders. Mostly light stories but sometimes darker when the mood sets on me

… the sci-fi & fantasy I can’t find today in bleak dystopia and post-apocalyptic novels. Not that I scorn them, because I don’t, but because I want something full of hope and joy and modern tales have grown quite dark

… stories with astounding creatures or devices such as star elevators or gryffonriders. Because writing about those creatures is a lot of fun.

I Create ....

… worlds whenever I can… Just for the pleasure of imaging new places

… technologies because at heart I remain an engineering and I need to check the coherence of the ideas I impement in my books. Science fiction or fantasy is not about truth, but a book should provide a consistent experience… This is what I try to give all my reader…

What about AI?

Today, AI is everywhere. And there is a question regarding content creation: does an author use AI or not?

In short, not for my writing. From the first draft to the final version, everything I write is my own. Maybe it could be better with AI (certainly) but my books remain handcrafted. Writing is my creation, and I keep working at it to improve my work.

I use Grammarly for proofreading the book, and it relies on AI components.
I also use DeepL for translation, but I recheck the entire translation (due to issues with the way tense are used in books vs the business usage for which DeepL is intended)
Last but not least, I have started using AI to generate video shorts about the books and show readers an idea of my world.
